My Exchange to Næstved Denmark: December 2015

Week 19 (Dec14-20)

This week was quite an interesting one, school was extremely fluid this week actually, partially in due to like 3 days this week were I didn't have to go to school until like 12. It was pretty great. Monday I got up at about 10, and I went for a run, not a terribly long one(5km/3mi). It is the first run I have done in a few weeks. Then, after I got home I just got ready for school, grabbed something to eat, and headed to the bus stop. In school I pretty much only had one class because in my second class the teachers just let us go early. All in all it was a pretty good Monday, which is saying something. Tuesday was one of my 2 actual school days this week. I went to school at 8:00 and got out at 15:35(3:35pm). Other than that Tuesday was uneventful. Wednesday was however a completely different story. Wednesday was the second day of the week where I didn't have to be at school until noon, and I only had one class this time!! :D During my one class, English, my friend, Tobias and I decided to go to the earliest showing to Star Wars Episode VII. We went to the 15:00 showing, It was the very first showing of the movie in my city. :D It was awesome!! :D Thursday was my second and final full day of the week, friday was a half day for me. On Friday I decided to meet a friend and some of her friend in Slagelse, which is about an hour, by bus, from where I live right now. It was extremely entertaining to be a group of foreign exchange students attempting to order pizza in Danish. It was a lot of fun, we ate candy, pizza and watched movies. Saturday I pretty much just hung out at home, then on Sunday I went for a run, and had a Christmas Band performance. I'll link the video below.

I'm sorry that this post is so late, but this last week(Dec21-27) was really tough for me. I haven't really wanted to do much of anything all week. Thank you for sticking with me through everything. I miss you all so much. Soon I will be setting my return date, and as soon as I know my return date I will be sure to share it with all of you. I miss you all, be sure to keep in touch.

Sunday: Running and a Band Performance

Weeks 17&18 (Nov30-Dec13)
The reason I decided to combine these 2 weeks was not because I was lazy this time around, it is only because not much happened the first week because I got sick, and didn't even really go to school until Wednesday.

First Week(Nov30-Dec6)

The first week wasn't so great. On Monday I didn't go to school until the very last class of the day, and this was only because it was the very last Masters English class, and I thought I should show up for some reason or another, but it was fun even though I was sick. After that I had to go to band practice because I had a performance on Wednesday, and its the last practice before then. I got home at about 8pm, had very little to eat and pretty much went straight to bed. I didn't wake up until 11:15 the next morning. Tuesday I made sure not to go out at all so that I might be able to go to school the next day. Wednesday I was feeling well enough to go to school, and had my band performance that night. I pretty much only went to school the rest of the week. Saturday and Sunday I just rested.

Second Week(Dec7-13)

The second week was much better than the previous week. I got to go to school, on Tuesday we(the other exchange students in my school and me) finished planning what we were going to do in Copenhagen the next day. The reason all of us exchange students were going to Copenhagen was because the school wanted to pay for us to have a day there, thats the only real reason I know, I just know that it was a lot of fun and we got to do a lot of stuff. Then, after I got back to Næstved I had to get home as fast as possible to get my trumpet, and then get to the Handball stadium as fast as possible because my band was going to be the entertainment in the fan hangout area, thats the best way I know to describe it. They called it the Fanzone. I was there for probably 3-4 hours. Then I was finally on my way home. When I got home I ate whatever I could find, and then went to sleep, I was exhausted. I slept through my alarm, and halfway through my only class that day, so I just didn't go to school on Thursday. On Friday my host mom made an awesome dinner that included 2 of my favorite things, french fries and onion rings. It was so good. On Friday I also met one of my other little cousins. His name is Tobias, and he is 10. We had a blast spending the weekend together. I look forward to seeing him again. He reminded me of a smaller version of my brother when he would spend time with Lennart.

On Saturday my host sister, Thea, Tobias, and I took the train to Copenhagen early in the morning to stay Saturday, Saturday night, and Sunday at my host brother, Nicolai's, apartment. On Saturday we made a ton of cookies, and of course we at probably a quarter of them. They were so good!!!!! Then later that day we went to a park, and played 2 on 2 Soccer. Tobias and I won. ;P On Sunday the rest of the family showed up, we had 13 people in the relatively small apartment. That was fun. We ate lots of food and cookies. We ended going home at about 18:30 Sunday. This week was a lot of fun.

Everyone at home, especially going into the holidays, I miss all of you a lot, I can't believe that it's almost been 4 and a half months since I've seen you, and some maybe even closer to 6 or 7 months. I'm always open to message with anyone who wants to, miss you guys.
